Rabbi Tendler zt”l used to say all the time that ‘[being too] “frum” rhymes with “krum”’! Meaning, as we said, that there are Jews out there who say and do things which they think are mitzvos that are not mitzvos or part of any mitzva at all; in reality they are totally and completely misguided (krum). In our own personal service of G-d we have to ensure that what we are doing is really what G-d wants us to do and not merely self-created forms of serving G-d.
